Lets say that you are in charge of your next duty station. Where would you send your family?

I would send my family to New York. Back in the day they had a base up north near my family. I would love to live closer to them. As my family grows and my parents become older I miss that they don’t get to see my children the way I do. Living closer to family would be my all time goal. Currently their are no Air Force Bases in upstate New York for my husbands job so we tend to pick locations that allow us for less travel. Other then heading home I would so love to see Europe. I dream of all the wonderful things my family could do and see and learn from living overseas. Plus the culture would be a great experience and one I am sure we would cherish!

  1. I’d want to go back to Germany. We spent 6 out of the first 8 years of marriage there, so it feels like home for us. Plus, we are a stone’s throw from the rest of Europe. I want to better understand and speak German, and want to be somewhere where everyday seems extra-special–cause it’s all foreign. And I want a GREAT BIG HOUSE–so I can go junking to my heart’s delight–and still have room for more!

Or Ireland–though I’m thinking we don’t have any bases there. :) I love Ireland almost as much as Germany! Belgium, too!

  2. That’s tough! There are so many places I’d love to live. I’m still in the “I want to travel the world” mode. I’d love to be stationed in Guam, Hawaii, the Azores…anywhere tropical. I also would love to experience living in Germany. We’ve visited a few times while we were stationed in England, and I fell in love with the scenery.
